DISCLAIMER;; This is not the real plot. Just a quick overview while we try and work it into an interesting story x]
okay. this'll be in steps, 'cause I hate making little stories and stuff for things that could just as easily be in lists xD
1. Noc is the lord of time.
Vrede is the lady of the elements.
Vespertine is lord of death.
V/V/N = Gods of Arco.
2. Noc and Vrede created the world.
Vrede made the earth & water & sky and stuff.
Noc made the wolves, the inhabitants of their world, and then he blew his Breath into them, bringing them to life.
3. Vespertine, the third god (lord of death) was annoyed by how Noc could work with Vrede and create instead of destroy, so he hatched an ebil plan, setting a sort of timer on the lives of the wolves - when that time expired, he took their soul, but left their physical body behind - in other words, they became able to die.
4. When the first wolf created died, Noc and Vrede were so suprised that they rushed to his side. Noc Breathed into the old wolf, and when he awoke (now immortal, the effects of death immobolized within him) he explained how he had been "taken" by Vespertine.
5. When Noc and Vrede heard this, they grew so angry that they created a prison for Vespertine, their combined power of time and the elements enough to overpower his lone strength of death. This prison is "hell".
6. However, Noc (the Breather) had not enough Breath to go around and breathe his Breath into every single little original wolf. Eventually, some died, but they had reproduced and soon the world was filled. Eventually, he and Vrede realized (as the world was refrained from becoming overpopulated) that death could be welcome in some ways, they allowed Vespertine to continue to take away their beloved wolves to his hell, excluding their Given**.
7. Meanwhile, in Vespertine's new lair, he had created three levels - the pits, really, the paradise, and the apathy. The wolves who had cursed the gods, turning against them (non-beleivers) were sent to the pits, where they were punished for their blasphemy. Those wolves who had merely lived, neither cursing the gods but not devoting their lives to them, were held in the peaceful apathy. Those, however, who had devoted their lives and upheld the lords' and lady's names were sent to Paradise.
8. The nonbelievers were often shunned and ostracized for their ways in the early days. They were rare and usually hid their true belief, going along with the ideas (really, the truth) of the others.
**9. Some wolves, true believers - who devoted their lives either to Noc, Vrede, or Vespertine - recieved special priveliges, or Givens. The usual that Noc Gifted others with was a distortion of time, giving them immortal life - almost completely aboloshing the effects of Vespertine's Curse - until they swayed in their belief or cursed the lord of time. Vrede's Givens were usually a power over an element and such, though these were only slight. Those strange ones who followed the sick and twisted ways of Vespertine were usually Gifted by him with a paradise of life after death, welcoming them into his domain and making them his confidents and such. They were honored with this, and nothing else was really needed to please and reward these wolves who followed the disgusting but fascinating, to them, idea of death.
10. Eventually, however, belief in the gods swayed and dwindled down to nothing - eventually, those Gifted Ones died out as well, the lords and lady losing the proof of their existence. None others that now existed were worthy enough for a Given to even use as mere proof, and the honesty and innocence of the Old Days was now gone - none of the gods knew whether or not those Gifted would use their Givens for good or not.
11. Now, to the focus of this version of Arco - Faceless Music. In this one (really the first, actually xD) the belief of the gods has completely died out. However, the belief is slowly coming back, though it's the opposite now with the whole ostracized-shunned-outcasted thing. It's now the /believers/ who are shunned, and so the gods are now searching almost frantically through them to find one or two wolves who stand true even in the current of solitude, sticking to their beliefs, never swaying, to Gift them and prove of their existence. So yeah - when you join, your wolf won't have a Favored God right away, seeing as s/he's not a believer yet, unless it is, but we can't have too many of those yet =o
There ya have it =D my ultra-stupid overview of the plot! Hope you enjoyed it, or understood it at least. Ask me or Katze if you have any questions x]
